How is Net Promoter Score calculated?

NPS asks "How likely are you to recommend us, from 0 to 10?". The score is the percentage of promoters (9–10) minus the percentage of detractors (0–6), giving a number from −100 to +100.

Interpreting NPS

NPSMeaning
Below 0More detractors than promoters
0 – 30Good
30 – 50Great
50+Excellent

Passives (7–8) count toward the total responses but not the score. Track NPS over time and read the comments from detractors — they tell you what to fix.
