Discount Calculator

Work out the sale price and savings, including stacked discounts and sales tax.

Runs instantly in your browser — results update as you type.

How do you calculate a discount?

The sale price is the original price × (1 − discount ÷ 100). A 20 % discount on 100 gives 80. Stacked discounts are applied one after another, so 20 % plus 10 % is 28 % off, not 30 %.

How to use

  1. Enter the original price and the discount percentage.
  2. Optionally add a second discount (e.g. an extra coupon) and sales tax.
  3. See the final price, total savings and the real combined discount.

Why stacked discounts are less than they look

The second discount applies to the already reduced price: 100 → 80 (−20 %) → 72 (−10 % of 80). The total discount is 28 %.
