Favicon Generator

Create favicon.ico, Apple touch icon, Android icons and a web manifest from one image — download as a ZIP.

Which favicon files does a website need?

A favicon set is the group of small icons that represent a website in browser tabs, bookmarks, phone home screens and search results — typically favicon.ico, small PNGs, an Apple touch icon and Android icons listed in a web manifest.

How to install

  1. Upload a square image (an SVG or a PNG of at least 512 × 512 works best).
  2. Download the ZIP and upload all files to the root of your website.
  3. Paste the generated tags into the <head> of your pages.
  4. Test the result with the Favicon Checker.

The Apple touch icon always gets a solid background, because iOS shows transparency as black.

Frequently asked questions

What image should I start with?

A square logo or symbol, ideally SVG or PNG of at least 512 × 512 pixels, with little fine detail.

Why does Google not show my new favicon?

Google needs to recrawl your home page; it can take days or weeks. The icon must be crawlable and at least 48 px.

Is my image uploaded?

No, every icon is created in your browser.
