Rotate & Flip Image

Rotate images by 90, 180 or 270 degrees and flip them horizontally or vertically.

How do I rotate an image?

Rotating turns an image by 90, 180 or 270 degrees; flipping mirrors it horizontally or vertically. Both change the actual pixels, so the image looks the same in every app.

Options

  • 90° clockwise / counter-clockwise — fixes sideways photos; width and height swap.
  • 180° — turns an upside-down image the right way round.
  • Flip horizontally — mirrors the image, e.g. to fix a selfie.
  • Flip vertically — turns the image upside down as a reflection.

Rotation and flips can be combined and applied to many images at once. Phone photos are first displayed with their EXIF orientation applied, so what you see is what you rotate.

Frequently asked questions

Why does my photo look rotated in some apps?

Phones often store a rotation flag (EXIF orientation) instead of rotating pixels. Rotating here changes the pixels, so every app shows it the same.

Does rotating reduce quality?

Rotation by 90° steps keeps all pixels; the image is re-saved at high quality.

Is my image uploaded?

No, it is processed in your browser.
