EXIF Data Viewer

See the hidden metadata of a photo: camera, lens, settings, date and GPS location.

What is EXIF data?

EXIF data is metadata that cameras and phones store inside photos: the device model, lens, exposure settings, the date and time taken and often the GPS location where the photo was shot.

What the viewer shows

  • Camera & capture — make, model, lens, shutter speed, aperture, ISO, focal length, flash.
  • Dates — when the photo was taken and last modified, as recorded by the camera.
  • GPS location — latitude, longitude and altitude with an OpenStreetMap link.
  • Everything else — software, copyright, XMP and IPTC fields.

Why check before sharing

Photos taken with a phone usually contain the exact place they were taken — for example your home. Messaging apps and social networks often strip this data, but email, cloud links and file transfers keep it. Remove it with the EXIF Remover.

Supports JPG, HEIC, TIFF, PNG and WebP. The file is read on your device and never uploaded.

Frequently asked questions

Why does my image show no EXIF data?

Screenshots, edited images and pictures downloaded from social media usually have their metadata removed.

Is the date shown in my time zone?

EXIF dates have no time zone; they are shown exactly as the camera's clock recorded them.

Is my photo uploaded?

No, metadata is read in your browser.
