Blur, pixelate or black out faces, number plates and private text in a photo — drag to select areas.

How do I blur part of a picture?

Choose the image and an effect, press Open editor, then drag rectangles over the areas to hide. Each area is pixelated, blurred or blacked out instantly; undo any step and download the edited image.

Which effect is safest?

Black box — completely removes the information. Best for passwords, card numbers and IDs.
Pixelate — clearly hides faces and plates; use a strength of 15+ for small text.
Blur — looks softest, but weak blur on text can sometimes be partly reversed.

Tick Apply to the whole image to blur a full background first.

Frequently asked questions

Can people un-blur my image?

Black boxes cannot be reversed. Strong pixelation is very hard to reverse; light blur on text is the riskiest.

Does it work on mobile?

Yes, drag with your finger.

Is my photo uploaded?

No, editing happens in your browser.
