Add Page Numbers to PDF

Number the pages of a PDF — choose the position, format, size and starting number.

How do I add page numbers to a PDF?

Choose the PDF, a position (such as bottom centre) and a format like "Page {n} of {total}", then press Add numbers. {n} becomes each page’s number and {total} the page count; you can start from any number and skip cover pages.

Format examples

FormatPage 3 shows
Page {n} of {total}Page 3 of 12
{n}3
- {n} -- 3 -
{n} / {total}3 / 12

Set Skip the first … pages to 1 to leave a cover page unnumbered — numbering then starts on page 2 with your start number.
