How to make your letterhead
- Choose a design under Designs: classic, centred, colour band, wave, diagonal, corners, side bar, split block, minimal, circles, ribbon, gradient, elegant gold, colour blocks or arc.
- Under Company, upload your logo (or keep the initials monogram) and fill in your contact details. Empty fields are left out automatically.
- Optionally write your letter under Letter, and draw or upload your signature.
- Pick colours and fonts under Style, choose A4 or US Letter, and download.
Which download should I use?
- Word (.docx) — best for everyday letters. The letterhead sits behind the text on every page and the page margins keep your writing inside the design. It opens in Microsoft Word, Google Docs and LibreOffice.
- PDF · print ready — your letter exactly as previewed, ready to email or print.
- Blank letterhead PDF — for a print shop, or to print pre-designed paper and use it in your printer.
- PNG — an image of the page for presentations or online use.
What should a business letterhead include?
At minimum: the company name and logo, address, phone number, email and website. Many countries also expect the company registration or VAT number on business letters — add it in the Registration / VAT no. field.
Free and account options
You can download one letterhead without signing up (every format of that design). A free account gives you unlimited letterheads and keeps them in My designs, and you can use any logo you made with the URLMode Logo Maker.
Frequently asked questions
Can I edit the letterhead in Microsoft Word?
Yes. Download the Word (.docx) file: the design is placed in the page header behind the text, so you simply type your letter and it repeats on every page.
Does it work with Google Docs?
Yes. Upload the .docx file to Google Drive and open it with Google Docs.
Which paper sizes are supported?
A4 (210 × 297 mm) and US Letter (8.5 × 11 in).
Is it really free?
Yes. One letterhead can be downloaded without an account; a free account removes the limit and saves your designs.
Will my letter text be stored?
No. Everything is drawn in your browser. Only designs that a signed-in member saves are kept, in their private history.
