How to create an ID card
- Pick a design under Templates — corporate, wave, curve, geometric, dark, security, school, hospital, event pass and more. Each one works in portrait and landscape.
- Under Employee, upload the photo, then zoom and position it. Type the name and job title and tick the details you want on the card: department, ID number, phone, email, blood group, date of birth, joining date, expiry date, emergency contact or a custom field.
- Under Company, add your logo, company name, website, phone and address.
- Under Back side, edit the terms, the "if found, please return to" line and the issue date, and draw or upload a signature.
- Change colours and fonts under Style, then download.
Printing your cards
- PDF · card size has two pages (front and back) at exactly 85.6 × 54 mm — the right file for PVC card printers and print shops.
- Print sheet · A4 places the front and back side by side with crop marks: print at 100% (actual size), cut, fold or laminate back to back.
- Use 250–300 gsm card or PVC cards for a durable result.
Barcodes and QR codes
The barcode encodes the employee ID number (Code 128, readable by any scanner). The QR code contains the name, title, company, ID, phone and website by default — or any text or link you type in Code content, such as an attendance system URL.

Frequently asked questions
What size is the ID card?
The standard CR80 size: 85.6 × 54 mm (3.375 × 2.125 in), the same as a bank or credit card. The PDF is exactly that size at 600 DPI.
Can I make the front and back?
Yes. Every template has a matching back side with terms, a return address, issue and expiry dates, a signature and a QR code or barcode.
Is the employee photo uploaded to your server?
No. Photos stay in your browser while you design. If you are signed in and save the design, a small copy is stored in your private history so you can edit it later.
Can I add my company logo?
Yes — upload it, or if you made it with the URLMode Logo Maker, pick it straight from My logos.
How many ID cards can I make?
One without an account and unlimited with a free account.
