Reading the result
- Added — the key or array item only exists in the changed JSON.
- Removed — it only exists in the original.
- Changed — the value or its type differs (e.g.
"5"vs5).
Arrays are compared by position, so inserting an item at the start shows later items as changed. For plain text comparisons use Text Compare; to tidy JSON first use the JSON Formatter.
Frequently asked questions
Does key order matter?
No. {"a":1,"b":2} and {"b":2,"a":1} are reported as identical.
Is my JSON sent anywhere?
No, the comparison runs in your browser.
What if the JSON is invalid?
You get the line of the syntax error so you can fix it.
