How it works
For each name, the tool queries the registry's RDAP service — the modern replacement for WHOIS. "Not found" means the name is not registered. If a registry has no RDAP, the tool falls back to WHOIS. For registered names it shows the registrar and expiry date.
Tips for finding a good domain
- Keep it short, easy to spell and easy to say.
- Check several extensions at once (.com, .io, .co, .app, your country code).
- Avoid hyphens and numbers that people mishear.
- Search trademarks before you buy.
"Available" but cannot buy?
Some names are reserved or premium-priced by the registry, and newly expired names may be in a redemption period. Your registrar shows the final price and status.
Turn a name into a clean URL with the URL Slug Generator, or check when a taken domain expires with the Domain Expiry Checker.
Frequently asked questions
Is the availability result real-time?
Yes, it comes from the registry at the time of the check (cached for one hour).
Does checking a domain reserve it or tip anyone off?
No. The lookup goes straight to the public registry and nothing is reserved or shared with resellers.
Which extensions are supported?
All extensions with RDAP or WHOIS, which includes .com, .net, .org, .io, .co, .app and most country codes.
