What is bionic reading and how do I convert text?

Bionic reading puts the first letters of each word in bold so your eyes jump between these fixation points and your brain fills in the rest, which some readers find faster and more focused. Paste text, choose how much of each word is bold (50% by default) and copy the formatted HTML.

Does bionic reading work?

Many people with ADHD or who skim a lot say it helps them stay focused, but controlled studies have not shown a large speed gain for everyone. The best way to know is to try it with your own texts.

How to use the result

  • Paste the HTML into a blog post, email or note app that accepts HTML.
  • Use 30–40% bold for long texts and 50–60% for short notes.
